Living in VA when war commenced.  Lived there eight years after war.  Moved to Fayette County, Ky in the fall of 1790 - lived in Fayette 5 years.  Moved to Mercer County 1795 applied for Pension in Mercer Co. Oct 7 1833.  Asked for a Pension transfer Oct 22 1840 Parke Co Ind.  Enlisted in spring 1781 and re-enlisted in the summer of 1781. 

Mary Lois Birdwhistell was a voracious family historian, and she often left notes of key information on whatever paper she had handy.  Here is a prime example where she shares some newly-learned information on her great great grandfather, John Rice, who was likely the first ordained minister in Kentucky.
