My paternal grandparents, Ida Berg and Alva Gibbs married and raised 11 children, 8 boys and 3 girls. Most of their married life they lived in Sioux City, Iowa where Grandpa was a carpenter. He built their home with the wood from rejected pallets he and his 2 youngest sons took apart. It was 2 stories with 3 bedrooms. He passed away on their anniversary in 1952. Grandma passed in the summer of 1989.
