Private First Class Charles A Hooks was born in 1912 in Fairfield County, Connecticut and served with the 331st Infantry Regiment as a rifleman.

Charles died December 8, 1944, and is listed as KIA. He is buried at American War Cemetery Henri-Chapelle.

He was awarded the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster.
