Charles Coslow (C. C.) Dawson, 93, of 955 Claylick Road, Salvisa, died Thursday, April 20, 2000 at his residence. He was a native of Anderson County, husband of the late Ada Mizner Dawson and son of the late Allen and Fanny Short Dawson, a retired farmer, a member of the Sand Spring Baptist Church and attended Kavanaugh High School.

Survivors include a son: Allen (Barbara) Dawson, Greenville, TN; two daughters, Ann (Ralph) Morris, Wilna (Lonnie) Thompson, both of Salvisa; two brothers, Coleman Dawson, Atlanta, GA and Lillard Dawson, Lawrenceburg; one sister Nancy Dawson Jones, Springfield; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by: a sister, Allie Dudley Moore; a brother, J. W. Dawson; and a grandson, Carroll Gene Thompson.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 23, at Gash Memorial Chapel, Lawrenceburg, with Dr. Mike Hamrick officiating. Burial will be in Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Pallbearers will be William L. Currens, Curtis Currens, Lois Vaughn Chilton, John A. Goodlett, C. W. Cecil, Jr., and Lynn Royalty. Honorary bearers will be Earl Chilton, Edwin King, John P. Tuggle, Bob Shade, Jack Freeman, Julian Birdwhistell, and William E. Birdwhistell.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Sand Spring Baptist Church Building Fund, 1616 Harrodsburg Road, Lawrenceburg, KY 40342, or Heritage Hospice, PO Box 1213, Danville, KY 40423. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Saturday and after 8:00 a.m. Sunday.
