Son of James and Jane (McMichael) McAfee, married Susanna Margaret Curry, about 1763, Virginia.

Born on Octoraro Creek, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

Kentucky pioneer.
Served in Revolutionary War as Pvt from Virginia. At Battle of Point Pleasant. Served in expedition against the Cherokees, 1776, and was with Col. George Rogers Clark, 1780. (DAR Lineage Book Vol 32, p. 352)

According to Robert B. McAfee, George was the first person buried at New Providence Presbyterian Cemetery.

"...was the tallest one of the five McAfee brothers, he being six feet, four inches high, and of slender build. He was called 'The Cornstalk' by his relatives." (source: Woods-McAfee Memorial, p. 276)
