Staff Sergeant Hugh Boynton was born in 1918 in Plymouth County, Massachusetts and served with the 389th Bomber Group, Heavy as a left waist gunner.

Hugh died June 21, 1944, and is listed as MIA. He is buried at American War Cemetery Margraten.

He was awarded the Air Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster and Purple Heart.
