Jane McDowell Foster Wiley was born December 10, 1829. She died at the age of seventy-four in a fire on January 17, 1903 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.[1] She is best known for being the wife of Stephen Foster and being the inspiration for Foster's song Jeanie with the Light Brown Hair.
