Staff Sergeant Jose A Castaneda was born in 1924 in El Paso County, Texas and served with the 392nd Bomber Group, Heavy as a right waist gunner.

Jose died October 7, 1944, and is listed as KIA. He is buried at American War Cemetery Margraten.

He was awarded the Air Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster and Purple Heart.
