Leanious Cox, 75, died Sunday, November 9, 1997, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. He was a native of Anderson county, son of the late Benjamin and Leona Pearl Overstreet Cox. He was a retired farmer and milk hauler and formerly employed by Kentucky Utilities. He attended Claylick United Methodist Church where he was active in the Burgoo Social of the Church. Survivors include: his wife, Virginia Elizabeth Merryman Cox; two sons, Donald L. Cox and William Butch Decker, Lawrenceburg; two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Edith) Caudill, and Mrs. Richard (Joan C.) Beard, both of Lawrenceburg; four sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Bell Robinson, Harrodsburg, Miss Arabella Cox and Mrs. Margaret Shouse Spaulding, both of Lawrenceburg, and Mrs. Mary Shouse, Salvisa; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Heath Decker, and brothers, Jim, Tom, Willie and Ambrose Cox. Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 12, at Gash Memorial Chapel, Lawrenceburg, with Bro. Joe White and Bro. George Dye officiating. Burial was in the Hebron Cemetery.
