Died at her home a few miles East of Salvisa, December 6th, Mrs. Nannie Short, wife of Dudley Short. She was the daughter of Martin and Patsy Nichols and was born November 9th 1854, consequently she was 76 years old about a month ago. Her father's family consisted of 11 children, 7 boys and 4 girls. All are now dead. She was married Dec. 18,1872 to Dudley Short by Rev.H.H. Tilford, pastor of the Baptist Church at Salvisa at that time. This union was blessed with 6 children, five sons and one daughter. The daughter is Mrs. Allen Dawson of Anderson County, and the sons are William Benjamin, James, Leonard,and G.B. Short living except G.B.who died Jan. 6th 1929. Mrs Short united with the Claylick Methodist Church at the age of 16 and was a consistent member to the day of her death.About ten months ago she had a fall from which she never She was a patient sufferer. Mrs. Short was an accommodating neighbor, a devoted wife,mother and grandmother and a faithful Christian. It can be truly said of her none knew her but to love her. Funeral services were conducted at Hebron Church in Anderson County, Sunday afternoon by her pastor Rev.R.D. Houston, and the Rev.W.D. Moore in the presence of a very large gatheringof friends who mourn her going.
