Mrs. Nellie M. Chilton Stratton, 82, Salvisa, died Wednesday, August 23, 1995 at Haggin Memorial Hospital. Born October 3, 1912, she was a native of Mercer County and the daughter of John Myers McCoy Chilton and Ruby Houchin Chilton. She was the widow of Robert Stratton. She was a housewife and a member of Claylick Methodist church. Survivors include: one son, J. B. Stratton, Salvisa; one daughter, Shirley Gash, Salvisa; one brother, Earl McCoy Chilton, Salvisa and one sister, Mrs. Earl (Frances) Robinson, Salvisa; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Emma J. Chapman and two brothers, Huntly and John H. Chilton. Services for Mrs. Stratton were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 26, at the Gash Memorial chapel in Lawrenceburg with the Rev. John Hockersmith III and the Rev. James Harley officiating. Burial was in Hebron Cemetery.
