Robert is the grandson of William Alexander, Rev War Vet, 1752 Virginia - 1831 Kentucky.
Robert and his 2nd wife Mary Woodruff and many of his children moved to California in the 1870's. Mary Woodruff, Robert's 2nd wife, died in 1893. Robert's 1st wife Mary Phillips died before 1852 in Missouri. It is not known where she is buried.
