Sarah "Sally" (Callaway)

Sarah "Sally" Callaway was the daughter of Flanders Callaway and Jemima Boone, granddaughter of Daniel Boone and Rebecca Ann Bryan, and was born in Boonesboro. She married James Barnes Jr. in about 1798. They had a total of 22 children,16 of whom lived to be full grown: James, John, Larkin, William, Callaway F., Flanders C., Lilborn, Volney, Andrew, Rhoda, Jemima, Minerva, Margaret, Hulda, Cynthia, and Elizabeth. Sally and James Barnes are specifically mentioned in Flanders Callaway's will of 1824: "I give to my daughter Sally Barnes the wife of James Barnes and his heirs forever one hundred arpents of land to include the improvement on which her husband James Barnes now lives . . . "
In 1835 they sold a piece of land near present-day Marthasville, Montgomery County, and the site of Charrette Village where Flanders Callaway and Jemima Boone had their home.
