Second Lieutenant William H Jr Stovall was born in 1923 in Coahoma County, Mississippi and served with the 56th Fighter Group as a pilot.

William H died December 31, 1944, and is listed as KIA. He is buried at American War Cemetery Margraten.

He was awarded the Bronze Air Medal,  Silver Star, Legion of Merit, and Purple Heart.
